Orthodontic Appliances
Custom orthodontic appliances guide jaw growth, create space for adult teeth, correct crossbites, and address habits in growing patients. Used at the right time, they can dramatically simplify later treatment.

Common types
Palatal expanders to widen a narrow upper jaw, space maintainers to hold room for adult teeth, habit appliances for thumb and finger sucking, and growth-guidance appliances for bite correction.
When they are used
Most often during early treatment between ages 6 and 11, when the jaws are still growing and respond well to gentle, predictable forces.
How we use them
Appliances are never recommended on their own as a quick fix. They are part of a thoughtful plan, always combined with monitoring, follow-up, and a clear endpoint.
Comfort and adjustment
Most kids adjust within a few days. We will walk through speech, eating, and cleaning so the experience is as smooth as possible for the whole family.
